Died Tuesday, July 25, 2017. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Monica and Gary Yane, Oldenburg, IN, Andrea Dwyer, Bainbridge Island, WA, Marigrace and Vincent Ryan, Dayton, OH, Virginia and Daniel Gehres, Dayton, OH, William Jr. and Jill Platt, Indianapolis, IN, Marita and Ralph Pettit, Cincinnati, OH, Lawrence and Alice Platt, Goshen, OH, and her grandchildren, Margo, Helen, Regina, Walker Yane, Sam, Bernadette, Elizabeth, Patrick, Lucy Dwyer, Maggie, Theresa, Anne Ryan, Lillian, Franklin, Martin, Edmund Gehres, Madeline Platt, Jackie, Ray, Tim, Jocelyn Pettit, Cassidy and John Platt. She is also survived by numerous spouses of her grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Mrs. Platt was born to Maud McAllister and Thomas Jones in Chicago on July 10, 1923. She was a member of Corpus Christi Church and the League of Women Voters. She was a lifelong Democrat, benefiting numerous campaigns over the years. She believed strongly that every individual had a responsibility to be civically active, and her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were enriched by her feminism. Visitation from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 28 at Westbrock Funeral Home, 1712 Wayne Avenue. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., Saturday at Corpus Christi Church, Homewood and Forest Avenues.
