Rita Zimmerman

ZIMMERMAN, Rita, age 89 of Kettering passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2017. She was born on April 20, 1928 in Fort Loramie, Ohio to the late, Edward and Mary (Bensman) Brandewie. Also preceding her in death is her husband, Thomas E. Zimmerman (2016); sisters, Leona Hamburg-Bruns, Adella Feldman and Lucille Bleicher. She is survived by her children, Pat (John) Crotty, Connie Leiser, Terry Luedeke, Gary (Denise) Zimmerman, John (Tina) Zimmerman , Bob (Susan) Zimmerman, Becky Zimmerman; 23 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; sisters, Genevieve Mauch and Martha Hundt, Rita stayed home to raise her 7 children and after they were in school she was employed by NCR in payroll for over 20 years.
Rita was a charter member of St. Charles Borromeo, and a lifelong member of the Dayton Catholic Women’s Club. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, dancing the jitterbug, attending U.D. basketball, playing pinochle, and relaxing at lakes.
Friends and family may visit from 4-8 pm on Thursday, July 27 at The Westbrock Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Rd. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30am on Friday, July 28 at St. Charles Borromeo. Rita will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Dayton Catholic Women’s Club.
