Robert "Bob" K. Jones

JONES, Robert Kane "Bob" age 72 of Beavercreek Township passed away Sunday, May 18, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 51 years Marianne; three sons and family, Kevin of Kettering, Tim (Toni), Hannah, Holly, Eli, Isaac of Kentucky, Mike (Jackie), Sydney, Rodney, Marty of Oakwood; three daughters and family, Colleen (Jamie), Bobby, Shannon, Kacey Greer of Oakwood, Maureen (Mike), Jack, Charlie, Tim Lunne of Kettering, Molly (Dan) Tommy, Andrew Lunne of Oakwood. Bob graduated from the University of Dayton and started in the insurance business in 1963. He coached many sports at Oakwood Schools, and served on numerous committees within Oakwood. At UD he was a member of the Golden Flyers Executive Committee, Jon Stuart Society, Leo Meyer Society, Front Porch Society and a season ticket holder for men's and women's basketball and football. He was a lifetime honorary member of the University of Dayton Varsity D Club and was on the initial committee as a UD student that started "Operation Joy" that became UD's "Christmas on Campus". The family will receive friends Thursday May 22 from 4:00-8:00 at Westbrock Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Rd. Mass of Christian Burial, 10:30 am Friday May 23 at Holy Angels Church. Burial, Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the University of Dayton, Robert K. Jones Family Scholarship. A special thank you to the doctors and incredible nurses who took care of Bob at Miami Valley Hospital in the Critical Care Unit.
