Robert (Bob) Anthony Bonanno, 49, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2015. Bob is survived by his parents, Frank and Kitty; his wife Christine, son Andrew, daughter Ellen; brother Vinny and sister-in-law, Danell and nieces Grace and Claire; brothers-in-law, Jim Strok and wife Suzanne and children Ryan, Lauren, and Austin; Mike Strok; sisters-in-law Joan and Roger Wahler and son Matthew; Bev Strok, Steve Suttman and children Kremer, Ali, Jack, and Sam; in addition to numerous beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Bob was a graduate of Alter High School and The Ohio State University. He enjoyed a long and successful career in the food and beverage industry, most recently working for Michael’s Finer Meats and Seafood. Bob’s wit, humor, and genuine compassion were only surpassed by his love for his family and friends. He was a passionate supporter of Alter and Ohio State football. Bob loved the snow and all cold weather sports including skiing, snowmobiling, and especially shoveling the driveway. Bob’s laugh, smile, kindness, and generosity will forever be missed.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at Westbrock Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Road in Kettering from 4 to 8 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2015, at 10:30 AM at St. Charles Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Bob Bonanno Memorial Fund, c/o St. Charles Borromeo School 4600 Ackerman Blvd. Kettering, Ohio 45429 to honor Bob and Christine’s dedication to St. Charles School.
