CHELLE, Robert L., Centerville, Ohio, born January 25, 1922, entered eternal life on February 17, 2018 at Hospice of Dayton. He was preceded in death by his wife Frances, parents Fred and Mary Chelle, daughter Dorothy, and his sister Elsie Myers. He is survived by his children Robert (Karen) Chelle, Linda (Greg) Laird, and Christine (Chris) Dosland. Grandchildren include Stephanie Worthley, Robert Chelle, Steven Laird, Pamela Cioffredi, William Neff, and Aspen and Savannah Dosland. Great grandchildren include Nathan and Tyler Worthley, Campbell Chelle, and Dominic Cioffredi. Born in New Brunswick, New Jersey, he graduated from New Brunswick High School. Robert served in the Army as a staff sergeant and surgical technician followed by civilian duty at Camp Kilmer, Raritan, New Jersey. Most of his working career was in the auto industry in sales and management. He served as a Deacon and Elder at The Reformed Church of Metuchen, New Jersey. Robert founded the Dorothy M. Chelle Children’s Memorial Foundation providing gifts and activities to hospitalized children in the Central New Jersey area. Robert was a member of the American Legion and a Mason. He was a member of David’s United Church of Christ in Kettering and resided for many years at St. Leonard Retirement Center. Viewing will be held at Westbrock Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Road, Kettering on Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
