Flohre, Sir Robert N., age 89 of Centerville, passed away May 27, 2015. Robert was a veteran of World War II, served in the European Theater with the 100th Infantry Division. Recipient of six medals including the Bronze Star and Purple Heart, also the Combat Infantryman Badge. Named Knight of the French Legion of Honor by the President of the French Republic. Life member of the Military of the Purple Heart, Chapter 31, VFW Post 9550, Centerville, Disabled American Veterans (DAV), also a member of American Legion Post 598, Kettering and the Catholic War Veterans. Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Melba; 2 brothers, William and Joseph and a son-in-law, James Revetta. He is survived by his children; Christopher Flohre of Centerville, Thomas and Anita Flohre of Urbana, Stephen and Karen Flohre of Urbana, Lawrence and Anita Flohre of Vandalia, Mark and Teresa Flohre of St. Paris,Timothy and Nan Flohre of Huber Heights, Ronald and Kristen Flohre of Beavercreek, Julie Marie and Michael Rogers of St. Paris, David Flohre of Dayton, John C. Flohre of Centerville, Anne Marie Revetta of St. Louis, MO; one sister, Elvera (Babe) Melke of Kettering; two brothers, John P. Flohre of Kettering, Edward and Vickie Flohre of Springboro; 25 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren. Friends may call at the Westbrock Funeral Home, 1712 Wayne Ave., Dayton Monday June 1 from 4:00-8:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 am Tuesday, June 2 at Incarnation Church. Internment will be at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
