Robert J. "Bob" Glaser

Robert (Bob) J. Glaser Jr., 73, of Beavercreek, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on November 23, 2021.

He was proceeded in death by his father, Robert J. Glaser Sr. and mother, Mary (Sullivan), many uncles, aunts and cousins. He is survived by his loving spouse and wife of 51 years, Barbara, his brother Jack (Pat), and his children Rob (Amy) and Melissa (Paul), and beloved grandchildren: Riley, Owen, Paige, and Eliza. Bob also has many cousins and extended family members in the area and as far away as California.

After graduating from Carroll High School (’66) and the University of Dayton (’70) with a dual bachelor’s degree in Biology and Chemistry, he served in the Army Reserve and Air Force Reserve for six and a half years. His in-depth scientific knowledge allowed him to build a successful career in wire and cable sales.

Bob was always passionate about community involvement and decided to express that enthusiasm by serving in public office as: Beavercreek Councilman (8 years, which included 2 years as Mayor); Beavercreek Township Trustee (7 years); and Greene County Commissioner (8 years).

After retiring from public office, Bob was better able to pursue other interests such as: motorcycling; woodworking; entertaining friends and family around his pool; playing with his grandchildren; and his monthly euchre club.

Friends and family may visit from 4-7pm on Wednesday, December 1 at Westbrock Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Rd., Kettering. Bob will then be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery, privately at the convenience of the family.

Bob/Grampie will be missed by so many but his memory will live on in all the hearts and minds of those who loved him.
