Pickrel, Robert W., age 64, of Kettering, passed away Sunday September 7, 2008. Mr. Pickrel, a veteran of the U.S. Army, was a graduate of Fairview High School, a member of American Legion Post #598, and a former member of Local 162 Plumbers & Pipe Fitters Union. He was a master plumber and owner of R.W. Pickrel Plumbing, Inc, and later a retiree of Pickrel Brothers, Inc. Robert was preceded in death by his father, Richard G. Pickrel and his brother, Richard M. Pickrel. He is survived by his mother, Janet Pickrel; a daughter, Tiffany Shekut (Steve); three grandchildren, Patrick, Sam and Ben Shekut; three sisters, Mary A. Pickrel, Beth Pickrel-Tranovich (John), Catherine Pickrel; five brothers, John Pickrel, Thomas Pickrel (Elaine), James Pickrel (Connie), William Pickrel (Leah), Daniel Pickrel (Julie); a long-time friend, Pearl Engleman along with her children; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and other beloved relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00am Friday at Incarnation Church. Burial Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 4-7pm at The Westbrock Funeral Home, 1712 Wayne Avenue. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton or the R.G. & R.M. Pickrel Memorial Fund (c/o the Dayton Foundation)
