SHICK, ROBERT D., 64, Dayton, Ohio went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at Hospice of Dayton surrounded by family. He was born July 6, 1946 in Dayton, the son of the late Edward and Vivian (Bashaw) Shick. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Paula; mother-in-law, Kathryn Kerstetter of Dayton, son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Susan (Barker) Shick of Miamisburg; 3 grandchildren: Devin, Bryce and Avery; brother, Jim (Barb) Shick of Vandalia; 2 sisters: Yvonne (Ben) Cleary of Dayton and Mary (Ralph) DiFlora of Miamisburg and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Brian Shick. He was a local business owner of over 30 years and loved fishing, boating, golfing, play cards with his buddies, his farm and pond. One of his greatest pleasures was taking friends and family fishing on his boat at Lake Erie. He touched the lives of many people with his generosity and especially delighted in his grandchildren. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 19th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Westbrock Funeral Home, 1712 Wayne Ave, Dayton. Funeral Service will be held, Monday December 20th at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to Hospice of Dayton where Bob received such wonderful care from the staff, nurses and doctors. The precious gifts of encouragement, support and prayers during the final phase of Bob's life by his friends, Heartland of Beavercreek and Gem City Home Care will always be treasured by the family.
