Robert L. "Bob" Tischer

TISCHER, Robert Lee "Bob", age 82, passed away on August 29, 2017 in Dayton, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Cora Tischer, his brother, Thomas and a brother-in-law, Elmer King. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Shirley Tischer, and children, Paul Boston (Cathy) of Troy, OH; Stephanie Tischer (David Varno) of Marietta, GA; and, Jennifer Tischer of Dayton, OH; two granddaughters and a great grandson; a brother, Richard Tischer (Clare) of Bethel Park, PA; sisters: Nancy Drexinger (Donald) of Smyrna, DE; and Suzanne King of Denison, TX; and a sister-in-law, Marilyn Tischer of Centerville, OH; other special family members and loyal, long-time friends. Bob graduated from Chaminade High School, the University of Dayton and Iowa State University earning a Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering. In 1959, he was employed as a research scientist in the Aerospace Research Laboratories at Wright-Patterson AFB until it's closure in the late 70's. He also was on the staff of ASD and worked in the Airlift and Trainer SPO for a short time until his retirement in 1988. He was a sports fan, a lover and supporter of wildlife, nature and the environment and many other charities. The family extends their sincere thanks and appreciation to those at Siena Woods and Hospice of Dayton for their kindness and care. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 1, 2017 at the Westbrock Funeral Home on Wayne Ave. and the funeral mass will be at the Holy Trinity Church, Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton or the charity of your choice.
