WEISMAN, Robert E., age 89 was born May 9, 1928 in Dayton, Ohio. He passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 16, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Alma Weisman; sister, Martha (Carl) Hatton; brother, Tom (Clara) Weisman; baby Charles and brother-in-law, Charles Leech. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Joyce; 3 children: Daniel Weisman, Jean (Dave) Licklider and Joe (Deb) Weisman; grandchildren: Travis Weisman, Jason (Tracey) Smallwood, Carolyn (Matt) Harper, Julie (Mike) Blaskovich, John Licklider, Ken (Betsy) Licklider, Dustin Weisman, Jacob Weisman and Jackie (Daniel) Stammen; great grandchildren: Abby, Owen, Eliza, Deacon, Tasha, Nick, Sophie, Mikaela, Jackson, Henry, George, Frank and sisters: MaryAnn (Jimm) Horvath, Kathleen (Jim) Nurrenbrock. Robert graduated from Chaminade H. S. and worked at the “Homestore” then on to the Post Office for 40 plus years. He also did various part time jobs before retirement and after to give his family a good life. Robert was conscientious, hardworking and compassionate and always willing to lend a hand; putting others needs and wants ahead of his own. He was a role model, a kind and loving husband and father. Robert was a devout Catholic at Immaculate Conception and later at Church of the Ascension. He loved gardening, fishing, woodworking, feeding the birds, bike riding, traveling and golfing, but especially spending time and playing games with his family. Robert will be remembered as always being respectful, accepting and happy. He loved life and his spirit lives on in the many lives he has touched. Friends and family may visit from 9am-11am on Thursday, January 25 at The Westbrock Funeral Home, 1712 Wayne Ave., Dayton, followed by a funeral service beginning at 11:00 am. Robert will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Hospice of Miami Valley.
