Deppen,Roberta A (Bobby) age 89 of Dayton, passed away peacefully Monday, November 15, 2021 surrounded by loved ones. Bobby was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she organized Friday lunches and movies, daily rosary after mass, Saturday adoration during Lent and Advent. She was devoted to the Blessed Virgin Mary, having made and donated hundreds of rosaries to various missions. Additionally, she taught many second graders at Holy Angels how to make rosaries for several years, and provided rosary supplies to friends and family.
Bobby loved to travel in and out of the United States. She took many walks on the beach looking for shells and shark teeth. Some of her favorite pilgrimages were to EWTN, Lourdes, Fatima, Rome, Medjugorje. She spent many years making cakes for all occasions including wedding cakes for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed working with silk flowers making arrangements and wreaths for all Holidays and seasons. Christmas was her favorite Holiday, decorating every nook and cranny of her home and included so many in her gift giving.
Bobby is preceded in death by her husband, Leon Deppen, parents Millard and Wilma Lefeld, daughter Mary (Deppen) Wright, son Thomas Deppen, granddaughter Amanda Deppen, brothers Glen, Dick and Jim Lefeld.
She is survived by daughters Linda (Chuck) Simko of Dayton, Jacquelyn (Tom) Ruble of AL, Patricia Deppen of West Carrollton and sons, Bill (Lori) Deppen of St. Paris and John (Angie) Deppen of FL, 21 grandchildren, 62 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren (one on the way) and extended family, former daughter-in-law, Diane (Deppen) Neff, former son-in-law, John Wright and sister-in-law Jean (Deppen) Willis and numerous nieces and nephews.
