Rodney Adams

ADAMS, RODNEY RAY "ROD", born January 4, 1950, in Salyersville, KY, age 62 passed away suddenly but peacefully at home with wife, Marsha at his side after a year long battle with brain cancer Friday, December 21, 2012. He is preceded in death by his father, Ray Adams. Rod is survived by his loving wife, Marsha of 37 years; son, Bryan (Jill) Adams, Beavercreek and daughter, Christie (Dave) Lawson, Kettering; 3 grandchildren who were the light of his life: Ben and Emily Adams and Macie Lawson; mother, Emma Jean Adams; 4 siblings: Keith Adams, Vicky Rustay, Chuck Adams and Robin Gillespie and many loving family members. Rod was a pipefitter and member of Ann Arbor, MI Local 190 for 35 years. He retired from Boone & Darr in 2007. After nearly a 40 year hiatus Rod returned to Morehead State University and walked and received his degree in 2009. With 4 ½ years of retirement, Rod and Marsha enjoyed traveling to many destinations and loved spending time with their children and grandchildren. Rod was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son and brother and will be greatly missed and wishes to be remembered with a smile. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 26th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Westbrock Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Rd, Kettering. Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 27th at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Valley View Memory Gardens.
