Rosemary (Rodie) age 89 of Dayton, OH passed away March 19, 2016. Rodie was born in Dayton, OH on July 31, 1926. She attended St. Mary’s school and was a graduate of Julienne High School class of 1944.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry & Marie Wildenhaus, brothers Ralph & Gerald Wildenhaus, sisters Agnes Wildenhaus & Ruth Brun, as well as numerous brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law. She is survived by George, her loving & devoted husband of 70 years; daughters and sons-in law, Susan & John Werner; Barbara & Scott Bruns; sons and daughters-in-law, George Jr. & Jane, Jim & Karin, Greg & Darlene, John & Michelle; daughter-in-law, Nancy Brun; Grandchildren Sherri & David Duarte, Michael & Tammy Werner, Jamie & Jay Crook, Marc & Kate Brun, Tim & Kelly Brun, Joe & Amy Brun, Jill & Chris Kruger, Nick & Kelly Brun, Andrew & Johanna Brun, Jessica Bruns, David & Marlena Brun and Megan Harrison; step grand-children, Cassie & James O’Daniel, Justin & Kelly Lyman and Vanessa Lyman and 25 great- grandchildren.

She was a life-long member of St. Mary’s Church and an active volunteer with the St. Mary Food Pantry. Her passion in life, in addition to her family, was cooking and entertaining. In 1974, she co-founded B&B Catering, a 29-year joint collaboration with her husband and life-long friends Jerry & Pauline Bashaw. She was the ultimate hostess and her door was always open and welcoming to family and friends and they never left hungry. She was a beloved and adored wife, mother, grandmother & great-grandmother. She took immense pride in her children, grandchildren and great-children and was a constant presence at their school & sporting events no matter how far she had to travel. She was the life of the party whether she was hosting or attending. People gravitated to her vivacious presence. Her voice and spirit will be sorely missed.

The family will receive friends Monday, March 28th from 3-8 pm at The Westbrock Funeral Home, 1712 Wayne Avenue. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 am Tuesday, March 29th at St Mary Church, preceded by a prayer service at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery.
