Rudolph Krafka

KRAFKA, Rudolph "Rudy" age 85 of Centerville, Beloved Patriarch of All Wee Krafkas, slipped away quietly on Monday, January 17, 2011. He will forever be remembered for his quiet demeanor, gentle elegance, love of reading, wicked sweet tooth and enjoying a good sip of cognac. A 1954 graduate of UD, he worked at MVH as a microbiologist for 40 years and was a U.S. Army Veteran, who proudly served during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the American Legion. Rudy was preceded in death by parents, Maria and Francisco Krafka; brother Frank and grandson, Benjamin. He is survived by his wife Doris (aka Rudys Susie) who was his true love for over 59 years; sisters, Bertha De Leon and Anna Marie Pena; brother, Carlos Krafka; daughters, Mary Katrina Krafka and Krista (Matt) Kaiser; sons, Kurt (Marcy), Frank (Linda), Erik (Sandy), Kent (Patty), Karlo, Jock, Yanko (Staci) Krafka; grandchildren, Ryan, Joshua, and Andrea Hemmert, Frank, Anthony and Michael Krafka, Kathryn, Oliver and John Krafka, Kara, Erin and Janna Krafka, Madison and Lukas Krafka, Claire Krafka, Sarah, Michelle and Joey Kaiser; great granddaughter, Mia Krafka and many nieces and nephews. Family will be receiving friends from 4:00-8:00 PM Friday at the Westbrock Funeral Home on Wayne Ave., a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM., on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Emmanuel Catholic Church, 149 Franklin St., Dayton, OH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Washington Centerville Public Library, envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Although his last few years werent the easiest, he found great comfort, care and unfaltering love from his wife and children who will miss him dearly.
