Fitzgerald, Sharon Kay, 77 of Waynesville passed away November 2, 2022, with her family by her side.
Sharon was born in Findlay, Ohio to Marion and Elizabeth Butler.
Sharon is survived by her husband of 41 years, Jerry Fitzgerald; her children, Dennis Dukes; Cathy (Donald) Miller and their children, Elizabeth and Chloe Miller; Shawn (Cindy) Dukes and their children Spencer and Elly Dukes; Michele Wasson and her children, Jarett and Allie Wasson and Cassidy (Grant) Zawadzki; and Shawn Fitzgerald. Sharon is also survived by one great grandchild, Parker Zawadzki, one brother, Ben Butler, and her two four legged furry kiddos Kash and Khange.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Elizabeth Butler, and half-brother Ike Butler.
Sharon enjoyed spending time with her family and cherished the times her children and grandchildren
came out to vacation at their lake house. She always enjoyed a good sale, and shopping with her
was a marathon as she looked though every single item on every single rack. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and sewing. She made the best apple and pumpkin pies, lasagna, and liked to experiment with new recipes.
Sharon and Jerry spent many years volunteering at the Am Vets near their lake home in Missouri,
heading up fund raising events and supporting the various groups within the organization.
Sharon’s strength and resilience were in full force as she battled health issues over the past two years.
The last three months of her life was an all-out fight as she struggled to recover from a surgery that was just too much for her body. Sharon fought with all her might and was determined she would pull through. May she finally rest in peace and be free from the pain she has endured while trying to battle her illnesses and remain on earth with her family.
There is no doubt that your family will miss you and grieve you for as long as we all shall live. Mom, we love you MORE!
