Dickensheets, Thomas P., born on July 4, 1941 in Dayton, Ohio, was called to his forever home in heaven on September 1, 2023, his 61st wedding anniversary! He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Mary F.(Tegenkamp), his sons, Tim and Todd, and his daughters, Laura (Paul) Guess and Louann (Mike) Lee. Tom adored his five grandchildren: Andrew (Jamie) Guess, Zachary (Kayla) Guess, Marissa Ratcliffe, Matthew Ratcliffe, and Megan Lee. He welcomed his first great grandchild, Lily Guess, in May 2023. He is survived by his loving sisters Joan (Jim) Heider and Helen (Carl) Flohre, in-laws, Paul (Carolyn) Tegenkamp and Janet Sheen, and several dear nieces and nephews. Tom was a lifelong member of St. Anthony and Holy Angels parishes. Tom worked at Ohio Bell/AT&T/Lucent Technologies as a service technician for over 34 years. In his retirement years, he worked for Emery Communications Inc. and The Dayton Church Supply Co. Tom was devoted to his family, especially his son,Todd. He was a hard working, simple man. A friend of Tom’s, was a friend for life! He loved going out to dinner, vacationing in North Myrtle Beach, SC. and playing cards. He was an avid sports fan and loved cheering on the Dayton Flyers, the Cincinnati Reds, the Cincinnati Bengals, and The Ohio State Buckeyes! Decorating our house at Christmas will forever be one of our greatest memories! A Mass of Christian burial will be on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Holy Angels Catholic Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 9:00 to 10:00 am. Mass is at 10:00 am, celebrated by Father Dan Meyer. His final resting place will be at Calvary Cemetery immediately following the service. A celebration of life will take place after the service.
