LANASA, Thomas C. “Tom”, age 57 of Kettering, Ohio passed away on Monday, December 18, 2017. He was born on September 3, 1960, in Dayton, Ohio. He is preceded in death by Grandparents Charles and Rose Lanasa and Vincent and Florence Warren, Uncle Charles Lanasa, and his beloved brother-in-law “Bro” Dick Bloom. Tom is survived by his loving parents, Peter and Florence (Warren) Lanasa; sisters, Patricia L. Geis (Michael), Lisa Bloom, Amy Weng (Rick), and many nieces and nephews. He volunteered for more than 10, 000 hours over a 15 year span with Kettering Medical Center and was inducted into the Montgomery County Developmental Disability Hall of Fame in 2017. He also attended United Rehabilitation Center for over 40 years. He was a member of John Pirelli Lodge #1633. Tom never met a stranger, he greeted everyone with “good morning” and left them with “have a nice day”. He loved to bowl with his many friends and very best friend, Darrell Dean, at Capri Lanes, making his bucket list score of 201. Special thanks to Angie and the Crisis Care nurses from Hospice of Dayton, the volunteer services at Kettering Medical Center, and United Rehabilitation Services(URS) of Greater Dayton. A memorial mass will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Visitation at 9:30 A.M and Mass at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, January 27, 2018. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Dayton and the Gorman-Hewitt-Ayars Memorial Fund of URS of Greater Dayton. Arrangements entrusted to Westbrock Funeral Home.
