LECHNER, Thomas Paul, 93, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2017, in Marin County, California. Thomas was the third of five children born to Albert and Dorothea Lechner, June 28, 1924, Coldwater, Ohio. Thomas served in the United States Army in both the European and Asian theaters during World War II. He is a graduate of the University of Dayton in the School of Engineering where he met the love of his life and future bride, Audrey “Pat” Olcott. Thomas had a remarkable professional career as Vice President, Chief Engineer at the MarMac Company, Xenia, Ohio where he was instrumental in the start-up and growth of this local engineering company. Thomas was a an active parishioner at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Kettering, Ohio, a member of the Serra Club to promote vocations in the Catholic Church , and a former member of the Knights of Columbus. Thomas’loving calm and kind presence along with his vibrancy shall be missed. Thomas is preceded in death by his beloved wife, his parents, sisters, Mary Ann Glaser, Virginia Staton, Helen Thomas; his brother, Mark Lechner, brothers-in-law Walter Glaser, Eugene Thomas, Millard Staton, James Olcott, Euguen Olcott; sisters-in-law Pat (Hickey) Lechner and Susan Comer Olcott, and niece Deborah M. Olcott. He is survived by his children, Greg Lechner, Anita Lechner Bosch, Barry Lechner, Daryl Lechner and Renee Lechner Liviakis, 13 beautiful grandchildren, two honorary grandchildren, sister-in-law Joan (Remaklus) Olcott and beloved nieces, nephews, and friends. A brief viewing will be held at Westbrock Funeral Home, 1712 Wayne Avenue, Friday, September 29, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Emmanuel Church, 149 Franklin St.. Dayton. Memorials contributions may be made to the Serra Club, in memory of Thomas Lechner.
