Nevius, Thomas Leo, was welcomed into the glorious light of God's Heavenly Kingdom on Monday, October 10, 2016, the morning of his 97th birthday. He was born October 10, 1919, in Springfield, Ohio, the youngest child of Richard and Elizabeth (Ryan) Nevius. Tom had three siblings, a sister, Mary "Sis" (Joe Lins) and two brothers, Paul and Richard "Bud" (Mary Catherine). He graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1937. He joined the Army Air Corps during World War II and served with honor and distinction in the European Theater, including The Normandy Invasion and Battle of the Buldge. Tom married Margaret Ann Duffy in the spring of 1948, they celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary on May 4th of this year. They were blessed with nine children; Teresa Ann (Phil Deger), Patrick Joseph (Yvonne), Thomas Lee (Tootsie), Janice Marie, Rebecca Jean (Bo Bauer), Paul Francis (Gerri), Mary Margaret (Matt Schafer), James Michael (Christine) and Michelle Rose (Ron Haines). He leaves a living legacy of 34 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren, who all have greatly benefited from his warm sense of humor and loving discipline. We all will dearly miss this devoted husband, loving father and beloved grandfather, uncle and friend. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 17, 2016 10:00 at Corpus Christi Church, 527 Forest Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45405. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
