Thomas H. Westendorf

Westendorf, Thomas H., age 86, of Centerville, passed away Wednesday November 23, 2016. Mr Westendorf was a graduate of Chaminade High School, class of 1948, and the University of Dayton. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army. Thomas worked for Tech Development for many years where he mentored many people. He was a member of the American Legion Post 598 and he volunteered many hours at St. Vincent DePaul. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Grace (Frohle) Westendorf; a sister, Mary Ellen Wenzel; two brothers, Richard & Robert Westendorf; and a daughter-in-law, Denise Westendorf. Thomas is survived by his loving wife, Joan (Wartinger) Westendorf; two daughters, Lynn Westendorf, Jean & Kevin McGree; a son, Kenny Westendorf; 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; and four sisters-in-law, Betty Westendorf, Donna King, Jane Jancauskas, and Lois Payne; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Monday from 4-7pm at The Westbrock Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Road. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial 10:30am Tuesday at the Church of the Incarnation in Centerville. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
