Valeria C. Schmit

SCHMIT, Valeria C., age 96 of Centerville, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 6, 1920 in Landeck, Ohio to the late, Thomas E. and Matilda (Morketter) Gengler. Also preceding her in death is her husband (2001), George F. Schmit; grandson, Jay Henry; sisters, Martha Trentman, Esther Buettner, Estella Schwinnen, Viola Mueller, Mary Gengler, Valetta Gengler and infant brother, Hilary Gengler. Val is survived by her children, Ronald (Linda) Schmit, Sharon Bell, Shirley Lee; 12 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren and many other extended family and friends. Val retired from the Centerville Schools and was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will dearly be missed. Friends and family may visit from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, November 29 at The Westbrock Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Rd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am on Wednesday, November 30 at Church of the Incarnation, 7415 Far Hills Ave. Centerville. Interment following at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton or Dayton Children’s Hospital, in memory of Val.
