Vera Friend

FRIEND, VERA M., age 91, passed away Sunday, January 2, 2011. Vera was preceded in death by her parents: Louis and Amelia Imber, husband, Charles W. Friend, son, Joseph D. Friend, sisters: Clara Franz and Mary Struthers, brothers: Ralph, Herman, Irvin, Frank, Robert and Joseph Imber. Vera is survived by her children: Charles (Vicki) Friend of New Mexico, Barbara (Phillip) Combs, Donna (Charles) Wagner, Stephen (Annette) Friend and David Friend all of Dayton, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Vera was a proud graduate of St. Anthony Grade School and Stivers High School. She was retired from the food service department of Mad River Schools, having served at Brantwood Elementary, Stebbins High School and Spinning Hills Junior High School. To celebrate her life, a visitation will take place, Thursday, January 6th from 8:30 a.m. until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Helen's Catholic Church, 5400 Burkhardt, Riverside. To honor Vera's love of animals the family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to SICSA.
