Hollencamp, Virginia “Jean” (Sankey), Age 96, of Dayton, passed away Friday, March 6, 2015. She was born September 22, 1918 in Cleveland, OH, the daughter of the late Edwin W. and Margaret K. Sankey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry N. Hollencamp and her brothers, Gale O. Sankey and Edwin “Wade” Sankey. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Richard L. Haas, Jr., Dayton, OH and Joan and James L. Crowe, Kennesaw, GA; son and daughter-in-law, H. Thomas and Paula Hollencamp, Deptford, NJ; six grandchildren, Richard L. Haas, III, Ann Marie McConnell (Scott), Daniel N. Haas (Renee), Jason Hollencamp (Marisa), Jennifer Thomas (Matt) and Robert E. Hach, Jr. (Alison); nine great-grandchildren, Joshua and Mollie Haas, Jack and Grace McConnell, Evie and Braylen Hollencamp, Luke and Heidi Thomas and Madeleine Haas. Jean was a graduate of Case Western Reserve University and a charter member of Sycamore Creek Country Club. The family would like to thank the staff at The Suites at Walnut Creek Assisted Living and Hospice of Dayton for the compassionate and great care they gave Jean.
The family will receive family and friends Saturday, March 14, 2015 between 10:30-11:30 AM at Westbrock Funeral Home, 1712 Wayne Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12 PM at the Church of the Holy Angels 1322 Brown St., Dayton with Fr. Dan Meyer, celebrant. Burial at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers if desired, memorial contributions may be made to Angels in Education Fund, c/o Holy Angels School or Hospice of Dayton.
