Gibbs-Pratt, Virginia (Butler) age 95 of Centerville passed away peacefully Friday, November 21, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Virginia was a volunteer at the American Cancer Society and Hospice of Dayton. She was also a graduate of Julienne HS 1936 and was instrumental in starting a school for mentally challenged children where she taught for several years. Virginia felt that her greatest accomplishment and joy was being a mother. She enjoyed her family, friends, playing cards, dancing and traveling. She was loved and cherished by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Richard Gibbs and her second husband, John Pratt; two daughters, Kathleen Marie Cambria and Mary JoAnne Gibbs; three brothers, Robert, Donald, and Lee Butler. She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Gibbs Strausburg, Patricia (Thomas) Gibbs Sableski; two sons, Richard (Zita) Gibbs, Robert (Amy) Gibbs; a sister, Margie McAvoy; a brother, Jerome (Marge) Butler; a sister-in-law, Rita Butler; a brother-in-law, Carmen Cambria; eleven grandchildren and twenty seven great grandchildren; step children, Cathy (John) Payne, Mary Ann (Thomas) Shultz, Susan Pratt, Ann (Steven) Schulte; numerous nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial, 12:00 noon Tuesday, November 25 at St. Charles Borromeo Church. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 9:30-11:30 am at the Westbrock funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Rd. Burial, Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Hospital or Hospice of Dayton, envelopes available at the funeral home.
