It is with great sadness that the family of Virginia “Ginny” Stafford, 95, shares the loss of their loving mother on March 12, 2018. She is reunited with her devoted husband of 47 years, Robert Stafford, along with her sister, Mary Lafferty, and her parents, Tony and Edith Jefferson. Her eldest daughter, Arlene Cooke (Harris), passed suddenly on the same day. She attended St. Mary's Elementary School and graduated from Julienne High School. Virginia was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church and an active participant in the Dayton Catholic Women's Club for many years. She was a passionate UD basketball fan, an avid crocheter, loved watching the Lawrence Welk show, and enjoyed listening to the Lettermen and Tony Bennett. She loved going to the beach, doing the puzzles in the newspaper every morning, and especially loved to play cards with her family until the day she passed. Her family was the focus and love of her life. Her guiding influence was our beacon of light and hope, and she was the most remarkable role model whose strength, love and caring ways touched everyone's life. Those left to cherish her memories in their hearts and to forever miss her are her children: Barbara Amos (Bill, deceased), Bob Stafford (Julie), Carol Whitehead (Denny), Don Stafford (Diane), Ed Stafford (Melissa), Francine Schmitz (Dan), Gail Jeffery (Scott), 23 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Westbrock Funeral Home (Bigger Road) on Sunday, March 18th, from 4 to 8 pm. Visitation and Funeral on Monday, March 19th from 9:30 to 10:45am am at Westbrock. A Catholic Mass to be held at Church of the Incarnation on Far Hills at 11:30 am with a Christian Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Church or St Mary’s Catholic Church on Xenia Ave.
