Walter A. Reiling, Jr. M.D.

REILING, Jr. M.D., Walter A., age 77 of Centerville, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2016. He was born in Dayton to the late, Walter A. and Dorothy (Unger) Reiling, Sr. M.D. Walt is also preceded in death by his daughter, Betsy Reiling. He is survived by his loving wife, Suzanne (Geyer) Reiling; children, Walter A. (Jo Anne) Reiling III, M.D., Mary (Ed) McMahon, M.D., Joe (Cindy) Reiling, Jennifer (Moritz) Richter; grandchildren, Krista, A.J. Kevin, Emily, Megan, Matthew, Charlotte, Alex; siblings, Dr. Richard (Liz) Reiling, Barbara (Bob) Aselage and many dear friends and colleagues. Walt graduated from Chaminade High School (1957), the University of Dayton (1961) and Harvard Medical School (1965). In 2016 he was honored by the Ohio State Medical Association for 50 years as a practicing physician. He also received the OSMA Distinguished Service Citation, was a past president and current member of the Ohio State Medical Association, past president and current member of the Montgomery County Medical Society, former Chief of Staff at Good Samaritan Hospital and former member of the Board of Regents for the State of Ohio. Friends and family may visit from 2-5 pm on Sunday, October 30 at the Westbrock Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Rd., Kettering. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am on Monday, October 31 at Church of the Incarnation. Calvary Cemetery will serve as Walt’s final resting place. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation, 2222 Philadelphia Dr. Suite #500, Dayton, Ohio 45406, in support of the Walter A. Reiling, Jr. M.D. scholarship.
