CRISLER, Wellington G. "Chris" age 77, of Sugarcreek Township, passed away Monday July 13, 2009 at The Dayton VA Medical Center. Mr. Crisler was born in Rushsylvania, Ohio, the son of Russell and Mary Ansley Crisler. He was a graduate of the University of Dayton where he was a member of the Presidents Club and an avid booster of U.D.s athletic teams. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans group. Chris was retired from DESC, where he was employed as a Supervisor Accountant for over 25 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Declan Kerry McQuillan, a sister, Norma Daum, and two brothers, Merlyn and Welman Crisler. Chris is survived by his loving wife, Mary Crisler (nee Enoch); a daughter, Suzanne McQuillan (Patrick); four sons, Kevin, Greg (Angela), Tim (Jane), Patrick Crisler of Florida; 13 grandchildren, Caylin Nyberg (Edwin), Andrew Crisler, Catherine Crisler, Ali Laux, Taylor Crisler, Brayden Crisler, Elizabeth Crisler, Benjamin Crisler, Teagan McQuillan, Ashley Crisler, Kenna McQuillan, Christopher Crisler, Garrett McQuillan; a great-grandchild, Aubrey Nyberg; four sisters, Esther Jones, June Birt, Marlene Thomson (Joe) of Kansas, Mary Lou Harden of Florida; a brother, Charles Crisler; a sister-in-law, Virginia Fowler; 25 nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog, Lily. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30am Friday at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery in Dayton. The family will receive friends Thursday 4-7pm at The Westbrock Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Road. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to SICSA or to the U.D. Athletic Dept. in Mr Crislers name.
