CROMPTON, William, “Louie” age 92 of Dayton passed away on Friday, January 27, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 13, 1924 in Dayton to the late, William W. and Alma M. (Nann) Crompton. He is also preceded in death by sisters, Mary A. DiCiacco and Eunice E. Sommer. He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Betty (Strong) Crompton; sons, Michael L. “Mick” (Connie), Donald J. “Don”, Ronald E. “Ron”; grandchildren, Michelle (Scott) Renda, Mark (Tamie) Crompton, Michael (Leigh) Crompton, Kristin (Jimmie) Deel, Karisa (Chris) Moler; great-grandchildren, Malori Asher, Mitchell, Chloe, Juliana, Cara, Andrew, Dominic, Keenan, Averie, Jimmie, Cora, Mia; brother, Eugene C. (Mary Ann) Crompton and numerous nieces and nephews. Louie served in the US Coast Guard. He was a super, outgoing salesman in the food industry retiring from Continental Coffee. He was an avid golfer, loved baseball, traveling the world, gardening and food. He and Betty have been lifelong members of Our Lady of Rosary Church. Louie was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be missed deeply by all that knew him. Friends and family may visit from 6pm-8pm on Thursday, February 2 at Westbrock Funeral Home, 1712 Wayne Ave., Dayton. There will also be a visitation from 9-10:30 am on Friday, February 3 at Our Lady of Rosary followed by Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 10:30 am. Louie will then be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of Rosary. The family would like to thank the nursing staff of The Wellington and Heartland Hospice for their wonderful care and support over the last several months.
