William Henry (Bill) McMann

McMann, William Henry (Bill), went to be with his Lord on September 9, 2015. He was born on June 14, 1935, in Cincinnati, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, William (Bill) and Mamie McMann, of Wayne Twp. (Huber Heights); son Randy; wives Eula and Jocelyn; and sister Dolores. He is survived by his son Michael; brothers: Robert E. McMann and sister-in-law Donna of Kettering, and James R. McMann of Dayton; sisters: Alice Loraine McMann of Dayton and Gracie E. Hill of Huber Heights; plus numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. Bill served in the U.S. Marine Corps and retired as an accountant with the Montgomery County sanitation department. He was a life-long church member and found great comfort in his faith. During his long and active life, he was a member and volunteer for many organizations in this area, including Hospice of Dayton. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, and participated for many years as a Piper with the Shriners. He held offices as lodge secretary and Chaplain, and most recently was a member of the Commandry. He enjoyed bowling, was an avid golfer, and was a huge Cincinnati Reds and Ohio State Buckeye fan. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday September 15th at 1:00pm at The Westbrock Funeral Home, 1712 Wayne Ave. Interment will follow in Beavertown Cemetery in Kettering. The family will receive friends Monday September 14th from 5-8pm at the funeral home, with a Masonic Service at 7:45pm. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital in his name.
