William G. Himmelbauer

William Himmelbauer, 83, passed from this life on Tuesday, January 17. He was born on October 17,1933 in Evansville, Indiana to the late Frances Welborn and George Himmelbauer. William was retired from American Express. Before passing “Bill” as he was known to his family and friends, forged an 83 year trail of laughter, generosity, compassion and wisdom for all of those around him. He sang everyday. He loved Opera and sang in the New York Metropolitan Opera chorus. Bill spoke many languages. He enjoyed reading. He loved nature and bird watching.
William Himmelbauer is survived by his siblings Charles T. Fuhrer Jr. (Mary Helen) of Terre Haute, Ind., K. Anthony Fuhrer (Karen) of Evansville, Francie Cooper of Evansville and Anna Dotson (Marvin) of St. Petersburg, Fla.
He is preceded in death by his wife Suzanne Himmelbauer and sister Dorothy Himmelbauer Scott and his brother Hal Himmelbauer.
A service and special Garden memorial will be shared with his family and friends at a later date. In lieu of flowers please send a donation to Five Rivers Metroparks Foundation.
