William Hippenmeyer

William J. Hippenmeyer, age 88, passed away Friday, September 13, 2024 in Kettering, Ohio. Bill was born on March 19, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois to Harry and Lena Hippenmeyer. Bill is survived by Lorayne, his wife of 66 years whom he met in Chicago and married in Tokyo, Japan. He is also survived by their three sons, Bill (Susie), Steve (Holly), and Matt (Cheryl). Bill loved his nine grandchildren: Dan (Brittany), Katie, Josh (Amy), Nathan (Becca), Kelly, Clayton, Sophie, Matthew and Sarah and six great grandchildren: Natalia, Grayson, James Michael, Chloe, Lucas, and Dempsey.

Bill graduated from Parks College, St. Louis University with a degree in aeronautical engineering in 1957 and began his career in Tokyo, Japan before transferring to Wright Patterson Air Force Base where he worked for the remainder of his career. Bill enjoyed cooking, photography, golf, fishing, playing cards, wintering in Amelia Island, Florida with his wife and friends, and being the silly Grandpa Seagull to his grandchildren. Bill was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi parish in Centerville, OH.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic Social Services of the Miami Valley, Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF) in his memory.

Mass of Christian Burial, 11:00 am Monday September 30 at St. Francis of the Assisi. The family will receive friends Monday from 10:00-11:00 am at the church. Interment, Calvary Cemetery.
