William L Sargent

Sargent, William L., 88, of Kettering, passed away Aug. 15, 2017, at home surrounded by his family. He is preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy M. Snyder, father, Walker L. Sargent, brother, Jack Sargent, and grandson, Zach Tracy. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Carol, his daughters Beverly (Mark) VanNest, Teresa (Bud) Tracy, Linda (Bill) Burton, and son, Robert (Laura) Sargent; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He began his life of service in the U.S. Army as an MP. After 45 years with NCR and GM, Bill continued his service for 18 years as a Eucharistic Minister at Miami Valley Hospital. In retirement, he enjoyed traveling and working in his woodshop, but he especially loved being with his family. His spirit lives on in the many lives he has touched.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 2-4pm at The Westbrock Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Road. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am Monday at Ascension Catholic Church with Fr. Chris Worland officiating. Entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
