William Snihur

SNIHUR, William W. age 84, went home to be with our Lord Friday, January 14, 2011. He was born in Syracuse, NY and lived there and in Oswego, NY until 1964 before moving to Kettering and then to Centerville in 1967. He was employed at McCalls Printing Company for 8 years and 15 years at the Springfield News and Sun Newspaper, retiring July 1985. He spent his entire career in the printing industry holding a Journey Man's working card in three different crafts (electrotyper, stereotype and offset newspaper pressman.) He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy Aircrew as an aviation radioman and gunner. William was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Anne M. Snihur, his beloved son, William "Billy" Snihur, his parents: Mike and Maria Snihur, two sisters: Mary Norman and Kate Newton and two brothers: Mike and Ben Snihur. He is survived by his sons: Dennis of Marietta, OH and Loren and his wife, Rinh Snihur of Centerville, five sisters: Anna Sawran, Julie Snow, Sophie Haahr, Olga Van Deusen and Dorothy Marascalchi all of Syracuse, NY and two grandsons: Matthew and Andrew Snihur. Visitation will be held, 4:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 18th at Westbrock Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Road, Kettering 45440. Mass of Christian Burial, 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 19th at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 4500 Ackerman Blvd, Kettering, preceded by a prayer service at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Centerville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Hospice of Dayton
